Scissor Lift Robot

Project Description

The goal of the project is to design and program an autonomous mobile robot. The robot is used in factories to scan and update information about stock in the warehouse. The system, therefore, needed a scissor lift in order to allow various sensors to be mobile. KITAU Robotics was involved in the full lifecycle of the project from design to programming and manufacturing. We also designed custom PCBs to facilitate the handling of complex sensory data. 

 

Problem Statement

Mobile robotics is a growing industry and is now being forecasted to be worth "USD 54.1 billion by 2023" (Marketsandmarkets.com, 2019). The industry is however dominated by companies outside of the UK. This presents problems when importing and distribution mobile robotics products and also has a negative effect on the price. It was therefore important for this client to develop their own system in order to remain competitive.
